Coloso Media Design
Coloso is an online education site for students of digital illustration, character design, and video special effects. It offers classes taught by industry professionals, like Pixar designers and animators.
But you wouldn’t know that from their ads.
Here I’ve redesigned their Facebook ad on spec to catch the attention and address the worries of their potential students.
Coloso Facebook Ad

Facebook Ad Before
In this Facebook ad, Coloso promotes four topics covered by one class. They also use industry jargon to explain what a title sequence is, which their audience of film lovers likely already knows. The four small photos don’t grab attention or emphasize that students will be learning from an industry leader.

Facebook Ad After
I redesigned this ad to answer what potential students will be asking:
•. Who will I be learning from? (A guy who worked on Coco with Disney and Pixar!)
•. Am I good enough to take this class? (Yes, you have what it takes!)
•. Why would I take this class? (Because I could be earning six figures doing something fun!)
• Why should I do it now? (Because it’s $50 off!)
I then used a bold still photo from the movie the instructor worked on to stop the viewer’s scrolling. Then I repeated the $50 off offer to entice the viewer to click to learn more.
This ad shows clearly what’s being offered, answers any objections, and gives the viewer a reason to take action.
